We are a small architectural practice based in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, producing projects with big heart and soul. We are passionate about architecture and we deliver outstanding results.

| our story |
spacelab. was incorporated 4 years ago, owned and managed by husband and wife team Uroš and Maša Plajh. A combined knowledge base of over 40 years in the Architectural industry, Uroš and Maša know and love what they do.
Both were born and raised in Slovenia, Europe. Meeting in their teens, then eventually owning their own architectural company for 13 years with success in both residential and commercial design.
After a big decision was made to challenge themselves further, they moved to New Zealand in 2015.
Since then, both have worked extremely hard to expand their already extensive knowledge base to include New Zealand building code and practices, which has bought them to where they are now.

Having a background of structural engineering and an excellent understanding of the building industry, Uroš is always aiming to offer structurally sound solutions and seeks rationalisation on every project.
Uroš managed an architectural team of 10+ designers in a very well known NZ housing company for 4 years, before ultimately creating spacelab.

Creative Director
Maša has always had a passion for creative things. She studied architecture at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana, Slovenia and is a qualified Architect [SI-EU].
Maša has more than 15 years extensive experience both in Europe and also working for more than one well known building company here in New Zealand in the field of architecture and planning.
Candice Haarhoff
Architectural Designer | LBP
Candice grew up in Mount Maunganui and went on to study at BOP Polytech where she gained her National Diploma in Architectural Technology.
With 5 years experience in the residential housing sector, she has gone on to complete her LBP Design License.
Candice enjoys the Construction side of Architecture and takes pride in keeping her customers happy in their plan designs.
